Smoking Kills
“Smoking Kills” Typography project: Take a Word that is regularly ignored and present it in a new way.
I chose the phrase “Smoking Kills” because it was something that was very present in our lives but people constantly ignored so i decided to look at in a more direct way or less direct depending on how you think about. I embossed the phrase on some rizla using some acrylic that i laser cut the words into, the idea was just to portray it in another way that people might notice because maybe when you’re rolling you may notice the little bumps on the rizla and take a look out of curiosity. That being said I also noticed that it could be seen as a more illlusive way to warn people of the dangers of smoking as the embossing is difficult to notice as it doesn’t stand out as much, this being due to the delicacy of the paper making a more prominent warning difficult without tearing the rizla itself
